This event is an opportunity to theatre seat travel live with explorer and author Adam Shoalts (A History of Canada in Ten Maps, Beyond the Trees...), watch local filmmakers Scott Parent and Chris Akiwenzie team up on a short film 'Gchi-Jimaan Jiime' about elder Justin Johnston's paddling journey circumnavigating Neyaashiinigmiing in honour of lost friend & brother Marshall Nadjiwon and browse the eco-fair in the galleries of the Meaford Hall. Find out more about Big Canoe Project, the Bluewater Outdoor Education Foundation, Georgian Bay Forever, Great Lakes Plastic Cleanup, Meaford Tree Trust, Escarpment Biosphere Conservancy, Meaford Community Garden, Transition Meaford and Free Spirit Forest School.

'An Evening with Adam Shoalts' is a fundraiser for Big Canoe Project's initiatives this summer paddling with local new Canadians and First Nations, offering free weekly drop in paddles all summer and travelling with the Canadian Voyageur Brigade Society to the Canadian Canoe Museum.

...and at this early stage we're inviting likeminded organizations to come and set up a booth in the Meaford Hall galleries in order to create a mini eco fair.

This event is a fundraiser for Big Canoe Project, a not-for-profit that brings big canoe experiences and water quality testing to groups and communities along the Saugeen Peninsula and Southern Georgian Bay.
