Local municipal government plays an important role in our daily lives - the water that comes out of the tap, the parks we play in, the roads and sidewalks we travel on, those who respond to emergencies are just a few of the services that our municipalities and counties provide. Some might say that it is the most accessible, accountable level of government.

There is a municipal election in Ontario in October 2026. That means, in May 2026, residents (like you) can put your name forward to be a candidate for your municipal council!

Vote Local is a grassroots initiative to engage voters in the 2026 municipal election across Grey and Bruce. Through a series of events and other activities, we hope to help support potential candidates and engage residents in the election so we can get the highest voter turnout yet!
