Community Gleaning Project
We organize weekly harvests, to which community members are invited to take part in the gleaning process. We also run community workshops around gleaned and seasonal foods.
The Community Gleaning project is coordinated by Lydia Dyck and Suraiya Foss-Philips, with the goal of sharing the abundance of quality food grown in this region with people who face barriers to accessing that food. Specifically, we harvest and share surplus organic farm vegetables with local meal programs such as OSHaRE and FoodNotBombs in Owen Sound and Light on Main Street in Hanover. We are finding ways to do more with what is already produced within the community, in the hopes of strengthening our resilience to food insecurity.

During the 2025 growing season...
nearly 4,000lbs of diverse vegetables were shared with local organizations. Our main location for weekly harvesting was Cedar Down farm, with occasional donations of produce from other local farms such as Luna Mia farm and Fair Fields, and Saugeen River CSA.
