What you’ll be doing
Come assist in tidying up our new a Miyawaki "Tiny" Forest and learn about forest ecology.
Meet Please at 10am at the back field.
Come as long as you'd like, but please come promptly at 10am as we'd only like to give the instructions once. :) Snacks will be served at noon.
This is the second of three Workbees in total this spring: PREPPING, PLANTING and POLISHING. This second Workbee will be all about planting.
Update: approximately 300 trees went in Monday, and there are more to plant! We are planting a very diverse and complex ecosystem!
What to bring?
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED: sunscreen, hat, appropriate footwear, your own water bottle, and your snacks if you're not really into fruits and vegetables. 🙂
RECOMMENDED: work gloves, shovel, rake, and bring your smiles for the videographer!
POSSIBLY IF YOU CAN: wheelbarrow
The location of each tree will also need to be marked with a ID signs. The area is yet to be fenced with native materials, and will certainly need to be mulched. For more info, or to donate items, please ask regenerategreybruce@gmail.com.
We hope you’re as excited as we are. This is all going to shake down very quickly and the forest will be growing before you can say Miyawaki Forest!.
